  80. The installation procedure for the "Icon Collector" is quite simple. The
  81. package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the entire
  82. process. You will need about 1.2 Megabytes of available disk space on the
  83. hard drive on which you plan to install the "Icon Collector".

  85. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received the
  86. "Icon Collector".

  89. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  90.  
  91. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  92.  
  93.    o  Place the "Icon Collector" distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  94.    appropriate diskette drive.
  95.  
  96.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  97.    This program requires Microsoft Windows.  The setup program will
  98.    start Microsoft Windows if it is not already running.
  99.  
  100.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  101.    will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
  102.    actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The program will
  103.    ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the "Icon
  104.    Collector" files to that directory.  If you received the "Icon
  105.    Collector" on two diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the
  106.    diskette drive when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the
  107.    installation program will install optional components of your choice.
  108.    It will make no other changes;specifically, it will not modify your
  109.    autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  112. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  114. If you downloaded the "Icon Collector" from a BBS (or received it in the
  115. form of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform
  116. the following steps.

  118.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file in a temporary directory
  119.    on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this varies, depending on
  120.    the form in which you received the package. In all likelihood, the
  121.    fact that you are reading this text means that you already have the
  122.    necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step.  If not, you
  123.    should be able to obtain directions for this from the same source from
  124.    which you received the package.

  126.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  127.    example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted the
  128.    "Icon Collector" package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
